From the very begining

It started out as a thought from my wife.  

"Honey, what do you think about hosting a child for the summer. I read an article in the newspaper about a ministry called New Horizons For Children and some people who did"

               
The above photo is from the airport in Washington DC when we saw them for the very first time. They are Roman and Natalia from an orphanage in Ukraine. This blog will follow our adventure from the time when we first met them, to when they finally become members of our new family.

We both started asking God to show us what we could do to improve the life of someone else. Roman and Natalia was his answer. 


They came only with a grocery bag. In it was a pair of extra socks and a water bottle. They don't ride in cars much and got carsick.. so... the Griswold's went to Wal Mart!!

Their very own clothes and their very own tennis shoes. At the orphanage, they only have community clothes.


They were very excited!
